| Heading north from Lago Agrio the road connects with Colombia. But, the region has had kidnapping and terrorist problems in the past. There is a frequent bus service to the border on the San Miguel river. Warning: Crossing the border here is easier, but not safe. |

| Get your passport sealed with an exit stamp at the Immigration police office in Lago Agrio. Then, take a bus to La Punta (1 1/2 hours), the ticket will cost you around US$1.00. The Colombian immigration police will check on your documents on the bridge
over the Río San Miguel to the village of San Miguel in Colombia. So, Keep your passport in hand. From La Punta to San Miguel is approx. 1 hour and the ticket cost is around US$3.50. |

Loreto) also has a ferry crossing some kilometers before Coca. |
