Banco Guayaquil.- Address: Colón and Reina Victoria, 3rd Floor. Visa and American Express ATMs for up to US$100. Also cash advance on Visa and American Express.

Banco del Pacífico.- For Traveler's checks (US$ only) up to US$200 per day; and Mastercard ATMs. Address: Naciones Unidas between Shyris and Amazonas, other branches on El Jardin Mall, Amazonas y Roca and in the Swiss hotel.

Mastercard.- For cash advance without ATM. Address: Naciones Unidas 825, next to Banco del Pacífico.

Produbanco.- Traveler's checks and Cash advance in other currencies. Address: Amazonas N35-211 and Japón (close to CCI). Another branch on Amazonas and Robles.

Ecuadorian Tours.- Sells and changes Amex Traveler's checks. Address: Amazonas 329 and Jorge Washington. Tel. 2560488.

Lloyds Bank.- Address: Av. Amazonas 580 and Carrión. Also on Amazonas and Gaspar de Villaroel corner.

Banco del Pichincha.- VISA cash advance. Address: Amazonas and Colón. Several other branches throughout the city.

Exchange houses

After dollarization there is only a few left such as the ones listed below.

Vazcambios.- Traveller's checks in other currencies. Address: Amazonas and Roca (Hotel Alameda Real). Tel. 2225442.

Multicambios.- Address: Venezuela 689. Tel. 2511364. Other branches on Colón 919 and Reina Victoria, Tel. 2561747; Roca 720, Tel. 2567344 and at the airport.

Communications

Telecommunications.- Local and international calls are available through the Andinatel offices on Av. 10 de Agosto and Colón. Also, on Benalcazar between Chile and Mejia (in the old city). Public phones from Bell South and Porta are reliable for international calls as well. These can be found almost everywhere, including the Terminal Terrestre and the Airport. See Telephone services.

Post Office.- There are several postal branches throughout the city, they usually open Monday to Friday from 08:00 till 18:00, on Saturdays 08:00-14:00. The best branch is on Japón between Naciones Unidas and Amazonas (behind the CCI mall). Another branch is in the old city (Espejo, between Guayaquil and Venezuela).

Internet.- Quito as many other big cities in the country has several Internet cafés, you'll find them everywhere especially in the big malls. We're mentioning just a few below, the average rates start at around US$1 per hour. Most Internet cafes offer net2phone and Dialpad for around US$0.20 per minute. Alianza Francesa.- French cultural language center located on Eloy Alfaro 1900. Tel. 2246589, 2246590, Fax: 2442293.
