Note: Be aware that independent guides do not provide a
full service (equipment, insurance, food, etc.), or transport.
Surtrek.-
They run guided climbs to all peaks, with equipment hire and sale.
They also work with ASEGUIM knowledgeable guides who speak several
languages, including English, French and German.
Safari
Tours.- They manage only ASEGUIM guides, with a maximum of
two climbers per guide, very knowledgeable bilingual guides. They
also have a climbing school.
Pamir
Travel and Adventures.- They mainly work with ASEGUIM guides.
Compañia
de Guías.-
Address: Jorge Washington and 6 de Diciembre. Tel. 2533779. They
work only with ASEGUIM guides: German, English, Italian and French
speaking.
Sierra
Nevada.- They also use only ASEGUIM guides, English, German
and French speaking. They manage larger groups.
Nuevos
Horizontes Club.- Address: Colón 2038 and 10 de Agosto.
Tel. 2552154. You don't have to be a member to join their trips,
they will also help you with some climbing tips.
Club
de Andinismo.- Located at Universidad Católica, they
welcome visitors every Tuesday and Thursday at 19:30.

to hire, or buy climbing equipment, they can also help you with
lots of information. If you have your own equipment and wish to
sell it, they are always looking after used equipment.

Andes
World Bike.- Mountain bike excursions and amazing tours

Aries.-
Downhill mountain biking tours around Ecuador's most beautiful
mountains and active volcanoes. Reservations: 2906052. Address:

Safari.-
They run free route planning and rent bikes. Address Calama 380
and Juan León Mera, another branch at: Pasaje Roca 630
and Amazonas, the small dead-end street opposite Hotel Alameda

Bicisport.-
Located at Quicentro Shopping (top floor). Also, another branch
on 6 de Diciembre 6327 and Tomas de Berlanga. Tel. 2460894.

Bungee
jumping.- Is practiced every Sunday morning through Andes
Bungee. Tel. 2524796.
Bowling.-
Can be practiced at El Molinón (Amazonas and Eloy Alfaro).
Swimming.-
There is public swimming pool at Batán Alto (on Cochapata),
close to 6 de Diciembre and Gaspar de Villaroel. There are many
others but in private complexes and best hotels. Hotel Quito has
a temperate large swimming pool frequented by foreigners. See

Whitewater
rafting.- For further information on this sport, Click
here.
Bullfighting.-
Only in the main season (The first two weeks of December) at Plaza
de Toros (Amazonas and Tomás de Berlanga). Tickets for
sale are found the day before the bullfight in Plaza de Toros.
The Union de Toreros (Av. Amazonas, Edif. Casa Paz) will give
you further information about all bullfights around the country.
Paragliding
Escuela Pichincha de Vuelo Libre.- Address: Carlos Endara

Snorkeling.-
Snorkeling gear for sale at Importaciones Kao (Colón and
Almagro and also at El Bosque and Quicentro malls). El Globo shops
(on Amazonas and Gaspar de Villaroel).
Cockfighting.-
In the Pollodrome (Pedro Calixto and Chile) every Saturday from
14:00 till 19:00. The entry fee is around US$0.50.
Jogging.-
At the Hash House Harriers. Inquiries at Tel. 2229369.
